International students' work hours, excluding winter and summer vacations, are limited to a maximum of 20 hours per week.
Working without a work permit, in violation of Article 63 of the Employment Service Act, will result in a fine ranging from NT$150,000 to NT$750,000.
During the work permit review period, it is considered as not having obtained the work permit.
The validity of the work permit is based on the date issued on the actual permit; once the work permit expires, a new application is necessary.
The work permit can be valid for up to one year and must not exceed September 30th of the following year. This applies until the end of the month of the semester for recent graduates and students extending their studies.
If you take a leave of absence or withdraw from school, your work permit will also become invalid.
The review of the work permit takes at least two weeks; please apply early if there is a work requirement!
